What is an International Business Course?
Trinity is the third installment of the Inter-Actief International Business Courses (IBC).
This year the IBC will take you to the Irish city of Dublin. The aim of the IBC is to give you insight into
the possibilities that Europe brings for studying, internships or even a job outside of The Netherlands.
During the business course we will do multiple company and/or university visits.
Furthermore, there will be plenty of time in which you could see more of Dublin and partake in cultural
activities.

About Dublin
Dublin is the capital of Ireland and with just over one million habitants it is the largest city of Ireland.
The name comes from the Gaelic dubh linn or “black pool”, which references to the deep black pool at Dublin castle where the
Poddle stream meets the river Liffey. Dublin is known as a historical and contemporary center for education, arts and industry. A number
of multinational companies have their corporate headquarters in this city and universities, like Trinity College (from which
we got our lovely name!) are located in the city. Besides being a very big city, Dublin is also very beautiful
with a lot of parks and waters. There are a few very old and beautiful churches, of which the Christ Church and St Patrick’s Cathedral
are two of the oldest. Furthermore, the National Gallery of Ireland has a great collection featuring over 2,500
paintings and 10.000 other works of art. Also, Dublin is known for its Guinness factory and its whiskey distilleries.
The tour
The International Business Course Trinity will take place from 3 to 7 June 2019.
In those five days you will get to see a number of companies, ranging from multinationals to start-ups. Moreover,
we expect to visit one of the many universities,
so you will be able to see if studying in Dublin is something to consider. As we get closer to the tour
itself, the programme will be presented to the participants and on this website.
The tour will cost you approximately €295,-. This means that you will get the flights to Dublin,
a four-day stay in a hostel (including breakfast), free public transport in Dublin and the
company and/or university visits. The prize does not include lunch and/or dinner. This
might change depending on the financial situation over the coming period.
Stay after
As you are in the region you may well think about exploring more. Of course, this is possible. If you wish, you could
decide to stay in Dublin after the IBC to discover more of the city or the surroundings.
If you choose to stay, you will get a restitution of the costs of your flight back (amount to be determined)
and you can arrange your stay and flight yourself.

Selection
The committee will, together with the board of Inter-Actief, review the enrolled students
after March 1.
For the sake of transparency, this will be the selection procedure:
-
The board will anonymize all motivational letters and bundle them with some information like your year of study.
-
The motivational letters will be read by the individual committee members and be ranked.
-
The rank of motivational letters that are regarded as equal is decided by the number of years left to finish a degree.
-
The committee will discuss the motivational letters and come up with a list of participants.
Then there are two cases which we need to discuss further:
-
Something along the lines of: “I just want to drink beer in Dublin” is considered to be a not-so-good motivation.
-
If there are two or more similar motivations and one should be dropped out, then a potential participant who
has less time left before finishing their degree will have privilege.
Attending
If you are selected to attend IBC Trinity, we will let you know before Friday March
8th.
In the weeks that follow, you will have to sign your participant contract over which you will be notified of
course.
Afterwards, you will officially attend International Business Course Trinity!
